A comics fan realizes his deepest fantasy, when a freak accident gives him super-powers, turning him into America\u2019s first super-hero in this series written by Brian K. Vaughan and illustrated by Tony Harris.<\/p>\n
Although this is a WildStorm title, it\u2019s set in a self-contained universe (Thank God: no guest shots by The Authority) in which the main character, who can \u201ctalk\u201d to machines and is Earth\u2019s only super-hero, has hung up the costume and been elected mayor of New York City. This unfolds considerably better than it sounds, thanks to Vaughan\u2019s appealing characterization and careful working out of the premise, and Harris\u2019 stylish but clear art. Both creators know what they\u2019re doing (see Y: The Last Man and Starman), and the last-page shot confirms that the readers are in capable hands. <\/p>\n
